Elbarlament participates in World Forum for Democracy

Elbarlament participated in the World Forum for Democracy, held in Strasbourg, France, on 6-8 November. The Forum’s title this year was Democracy = Peace?

More specifically, we participated in the lab session Women building peace: are peace negotiations open to all the stakeholders?, focusing on the leadership programme of our Women Talking Peace project.

The World Democracy Forum is a unique platform for political decision-makers and activists to discuss solutions to key challenges facing democracies around the world. Our participation aimed at showing that women empowerment in Iraq is one of the most important aspects of supporting democracy and peacebuilding in the country.
