Shadowing at the Bundestag for Ukrainian women refugees
Last May we concluded the project “Civil society and democratic experiences for Ukrainian women“. This fall, some of the participants had the opportunity to pair up with a member of the German parliament, following their activities for a full week, what we call ‘shadowing’.
The feedback was positive from both sides. Here are some quotes from the participants:
“The opportunity to observe the daily operations of the German Bundestag and witness the decision-making processes firsthand was incredibly inspiring. The direct engagement with Members of Parliament and their teams gave valuable insights into the complexities of legislative work and democratic governance.”
“I really enjoyed the conversations we had in the Robin Wagener office, they focus specifically on Ukraine so we were already like-minded. It’s an amazing opportunity for us to learn about the system.”
“I would like to always be involved in such a level of experience exchange on a professional level. Thank you very much for the invitation.”
“This was an enriching experience well-designed for me personally to see how processes take place from the inside.”
“That was fantastic, even despite such an unstable situation in the government. Interesting, eventful days, historical moments, new acquaintances, and in some cases, exchange of experiences. Many thanks to the organisers.”
