Strategic Advisory Briefs – Team Europe Democracy (TED)
Under the Team Europe Democracy (TED) Framework Agreement, this assignment supported Working Group 2 (WG2) on Citizen and Political Participation in developing strategic advisory briefs on the role of civic and political participation in two key policy areas: responsible investment and the Global Gateway agenda, and the evolving human security and defence landscape. The project aimed to strengthen evidence-based democratic governance programming by identifying opportunities, challenges, and practical recommendations for Team Europe actors and democracy support practitioners.
Project Activities
- Conducted an extensive review of EU and international policy frameworks related to democracy, human rights, responsible investment, and human security.
- Analysed the intersections between civic participation, democratic governance, private sector engagement, and security agendas.
- Engaged with EU institutions, Member States, democracy support organisations, and TED network members through consultations and validation processes.
- Developed strategic advisory briefs combining policy analysis, case studies, and practical recommendations.
- Integrated cross-cutting themes including gender equality, youth participation, inclusion, human rights, environmental sustainability, and digital inclusion.
- Produced actionable guidance to support TED Working Groups, knowledge products, webinars, and future democracy support programming.
