“Challenges in Yemen: Is There an End in Sight?” elbarlament participation
Elbarlament and Peace Track Initiative (PTI) participated in an insightful panel discussion titled “Challenges in Yemen: Is There an End in Sight?” on 4 December. The event was hosted by the Hertie School Middle East Policy Club.
The panel discussion delved into crucial questions regarding the Yemeni civil war, which has been ongoing for eight years, and explored the role of women in the peace process.
The discussion highlighted the pressing challenges that Yemen faces today. These challenges range from severe humanitarian crises to complex political dynamics, which continue to shape the nation’s future. The discussion also shed light on the essential but often underrepresented role of women in Yemen’s peace-building efforts and mentioned the significant contributions made by women and the importance of their inclusion in the peace process. The event provided a valuable platform for a thoughtful and informative conversation on the Yemeni crisis.
We’d like to extend our gratitude to all the 22 students from all around the globe, who attended and participated in this panel and we would also like to thank to the Middle East Student Club at the Hertie School for its engagement and support to increase the awareness about the ongoing challenges in Yemen.
