New Strategic Advisory Briefs Strengthen TED Working Groups on Rule of Law and Media

We developed two dynamic strategic advisory briefs for Enabel and the TED Secretariat, designed to energise and guide the TED Working Groups in tackling two critical themes: Rule of Law & Accountability and Media & Digital.

These forward-looking briefs provide more than analysis — they offer clear positioning, practical guidance and fresh inspiration to translate dialogue into action.

Each brief:

  • Delivers a sharp thematic overview, clarifying strategic positioning and relevance within today’s democratic landscape.

  • Identifies key challenges to inclusive participation, accountability and information integrity — including context-specific risks, power dynamics and unintended consequences that can undermine reform efforts.

  • Showcases effective practices, innovative approaches and lessons learned from comparable initiatives.

  • Sets out concrete, actionable recommendations to help TED and its Working Groups transform insights into practical activities, tools, case studies and knowledge products.

  • Maps and motivates relevant stakeholders essential for driving impact.

For Working Group 2 (Media & Digital), the brief goes a step further by outlining pathways to build on prior and existing work, integrate transversal priorities and ensure continuity, coherence and sustainability across outputs.

Together, these briefs equip the TED Working Groups with the strategic clarity and operational direction needed to advance inclusive governance, strengthen accountability mechanisms and safeguard information integrity in complex environments.
