High-Level Hybrid Conference on Resolution 1325

From the 11th to 12th December 2020, elbarlament will host a high-level hybrid conference on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UNSCR 1325 on Women Peace and Security.

20 years after the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women Peace and Security was implemented, women in Iraq and the MENA region continue to struggle with the consequences of violence, war and conflict.

elbarlament e.V. has invited speakers from Iraq and the broader MENA region to share their visions for a peaceful society and to exchange experiences and lessons learned from implementing UNSCR 1325. The conference aims at showcasing the positive role of women in overcoming cultural and social divisions.

The panels consist of government officials, experts, women’s organisations, researchers, activists, religious and tribal leaders and civil society representatives.
