Civic education workshop in the making

In late August, elbarlament published a call for applications inviting enthusiastic individuals to join the upcoming civic education workshop in Kirkuk on 29-30 September, as part of our “Democracy Needs Civic Education” project. The workshop aims to empower citizens with essential knowledge and skills, as well as encouraging participants to actively engage with their community and contribute to positive change. We are thrilled to share that the response exceeded our expectations, reflecting a genuine eagerness among young Iraqis to actively participate in shaping the future of their communities.

We are also busy organising the first of series of five events across the duration of the project, to take place at the beginning of October in Erbil. It will bring together twenty stakeholders from Iraqi NGOs, international organisations and academia who are active in the field of civic education.
