Fourth Annual Meeting of Team Europe Democracy

The Fourth Annual Meeting of Team Europe Democracy (TED), which elbarlament also attended, was held in Brussels on 16–17 June 2026. It convened over 190 participants from EU institutions, Member States, civil society, and partner organisations. This year’s meeting explored how TED can further serve as a platform for exchange and cooperation, connecting knowledge, partnerships, and tools in the context of growing geopolitical challenges, shrinking civic space, and democratic backsliding.

Discussions centred on integrating democratic principles “by design” into EU international partnerships, strengthening cooperation with the private sector, and fostering locally grounded resilience. The annual meeting also explored how TED can better respond to democratic openings, deepen coordination, and translate shared priorities into tangible, context-specific action.
