Alaa Hadid, Project Officer

Alaa holds a Master`s degree of “Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action”, a BA of “Arts and Social Studies, English Literature”, and a Diploma of “Cultural Studies and Russian Language”.

Before taking up her position at elbarlament, Alaa worked with governmental and academic institutions in several Middle Eastern locations, as well as international organisations including the International Crisis Group, Danish Refugee Council, Qatar Red Crescent, CARE International USA, The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Qatar and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia (Georgia).

Alaa worked as a project manager in Iraq focusing on the prevention of violent extremism in North-Western areas of Iraq (Nineveh Governorate), in addition to being an executive coordinator at the Syrian Women’s Academic Network (DSFG) in Germany.

Alaa has academic publications in the field of peace, conflict and political science. One is a peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Asian Affairs titled “Stable Jordan: How A Monarchy Survived Disorder” in addition to a book chapter published by Routledge titled “Challenges to Youth Civic Engagement and Community Development in Syria”.
