Salima Hamadache is a human rights advocate and researcher, and a Master’s student in Interdisciplinary Middle Eastern Studies in Berlin, with a focus on gender studies, intersectionality, and postcolonial theory. She holds a first-class degree in History of Art and has previously worked in the arts and cultural sector. Drawing on this background, Salima is particularly interested in the intersections between culture, politics, and social justice. Through her work with Elbarlament, she seeks to combine critical research with creative and community-based approaches to contribute to human rights advocacy and international solidarity.

Hanin is Senior Project and Partnership Manager at elbarlament. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Bologna in Development and International Cooperation. Before taking up her position at elbarlament, Hanin has worked several years in the humanitarian sector mainly in the Middle East and she held different positions in governmental and international non-governmental organisations.

She was the project manager of our Towards enhancing the resilience of women human rights defenders in Yemen to advocate for women’s and children’s rights project. She led the Women Taking the Lead project during a significant phase of its implementation (10 months). and was then responsbile for PATH.

Michaela Eckart holds a university degree in Islamic Studies and International Law. Over the past ten years, she has been working in the field of gender, international constitutional law and human rights in the MENA region.

She has been living and worked extensively in the Middle East in her previous positions and is familiar with operating in culturally diverse environments. Michaela was employed in the MENA programme of the Danish Institute for Human Rights in 2015/16 and managed the gender projects in the Goethe-Institut Cairo in 2017/18. She contributed to a book publication on constitutional change in MENA.

Michaela Eckart managed the GIZ-funded project “A strategy for women participation in peace processes in Nineveh” with elbarlament e.V. and was responsible for the management of the long-standing GIZ project ‘’Women talking peace – Women leading peace talks’’. She is currently responsible for the “Women taking the Lead” project.
