Annie has been supporting elbarlament’s communication activities since 2020. Prior to moving to Berlin she had spent seven years in Brussels where she worked as a Communications Manager for a trade association. She is fluent in English, German, French and her native tongue Greek.

Parez Dzay holds a BA in Water Resources Engineering  and finished her education in University of Kurdsitan Hewler, Iraq.

She has more than six years of experience in the environment field. Previously, she worked as environmental officer with the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq on Environment Energy and Climate Change portfolio.

She is now part of the Democracy Needs Civic Education – a civic education platform for Iraq project team.

Shaimaa joined elbarlament in January 2024 as finance and admin officer for
the Quality and Effectiveness in Dialogue and Participation in Iraq project. Shaimaa has a B.Sc. in English Language and Literature and has previously worked as a translator/interpreter and as an HR and Finance assistant for MSF-Holland. She also worked as a finance and HR officer for arche noVa and an HR/admin officer for Save the Children. She is based in Iraq.

Antonio joined elbarlament in August 2021. Before that, he worked for six years in the finance department of Bread for the World.

Antonio hold two degrees from the University of Castilla La-Mancha; one in Business Administration and the second in Techniques and Applications of Social Research.

Sebastian Bloching joined elbarlament – cultures of democracy in 2018 as a Deputy Managing Director. He also works as a Programmes Adviser at the European Partnership for Democracy, of which elbarlament – cultures of democracy is a member.

Sebastian has ample experience designing and managing democracy support projects in various countries in Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Central and Southeast Asia.

He is the co-author of a handbook for facilitating inclusive policy dialogue. Having led civil society advocacy activities in Brussels and worked as a policy advisor at the European Parliament, Sebastian has acquired in-depths knowledge of the EU decision making process and EU external policies, in particular on democracy support, human rights, security and defence.

Sebastian is an MA graduate in Political Science and European Affairs of the integrated German-French study programme between the Freie Universität Berlin and the Institut d’études politiques de Paris.

He speaks fluent German, English and French and also has a good knowledge of Spanish and Greek.
