{"id":4679,"date":"2025-07-10T15:33:04","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T13:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elbarlament.org\/?p=4679"},"modified":"2025-07-10T15:33:04","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T13:33:04","slug":"wyde-civic-engagement-first-of-its-kind-youth-participation-index-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbarlament.org\/?p=4679","title":{"rendered":"WYDE Civic Engagement: First-of-its-kind Youth Participation Index launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-end=\"2428\" data-start=\"2093\">We\u2019re excited to share the launch of the <strong data-end=\"2177\" data-start=\"2134\">Global Youth Participation Index (GYPI)<\/strong>, part of the <em data-end=\"2221\" data-start=\"2191\">Women and Youth in Democracy<\/em> (WYDE) programme.<br data-end=\"2242\" data-start=\"2239\" \/>This innovative tool measures <strong data-end=\"2305\" data-start=\"2272\">youth political participation<\/strong> in over 140 countries across four key dimensions:<br data-end=\"2358\" data-start=\"2355\" \/><br \/>\n\u2714 Socio-Economic<br data-end=\"2377\" data-start=\"2374\" \/>\u2714 Civic Space<br data-end=\"2393\" data-start=\"2390\" \/>\u2714 Political Affairs<br data-end=\"2415\" data-start=\"2412\" \/>\u2714 Elections<\/p>\n<p>It represents the first ever attempt to systematically collect data on the participation of young people in economic, civic and political life. More specifically, the GYPI scores 141 countries on the extent to which they respect young people\u2019s political rights, civil liberties and economic needs, and so enable them to fully participate in political, civic and economic life.
