Women and Youth in Democracy initiative (WYDE) call for proposals<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 2022-2026 elbarlament will be implementing activities within the EU-funded \u2018Women and Youth in Democracy\u2019 Initiative (WYDE) as a member of the EPD network.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u2018Youth Participation in Public Affairs\u2019 programme of the EU\u2019s <\/span>\u2018Women and Youth in Democracy\u2019 Initiative (WYDE) <\/b>aims to improve the enfranchisement, empowerment, and inclusion of youth at all levels of democratic participation at a national, regional and global scale. <\/span>WYDE youth\u2019s three-pronged approach is informed by the need for youth engagement and inclusion not only at all possible levels, bearing in mind that half of the world\u2019s population are under 30 and that the continued survival of democracy is highly dependent on buy-in and support among its youth. The overall objective of the WYDE project is therefore to fund and implement national and transnational projects in support of youth civic engagement and participation in the decision-making processes across the Sub-Saharan countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elbarlament\u2019s actions are situated within a second pillar of the WYDE project supporting youth-led organisations in Sub-Saharan countries through specific coaching and mentoring on project development, project management and through a leadership programme. Elbarlament will also be in charge of supporting local youth organisations willing to advocate for the establishment of National Youth Councils in their countries of origin, assisting them through the provision of expertise to share best practices with key national stakeholders and to assess the feasibility and most appropriate format of such councils.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the main objective of the call of proposal?<\/b><\/p>\n

The WYDE project foresees the implementation of 5 different projects called \u201cClusters\u201d. Through the re-granting scheme, the cluster number 1 named \u201c<\/span>Generate Democracy: involving youth CSOs in democracy support<\/span><\/i>\u201d is dedicated to providing youth CSOs with the chance to put into practice the lessons learnt in the other clusters and undertake responsibilities over concrete actions promoting civic engagement and democracy.<\/span><\/p>\n
