The almost 30 women participating in our modular leadership programme met for the first time in Erbil last week at a moving graduation ceremony. This, after having seen each other only on the screen for the past year due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Our leadership programme empowered these women, who came from politics as well as civil society, to effectively participate in conflict resolution, reconciliation work<\/strong> and decision-making<\/strong>. More specifically, participants were trained to take on management tasks at all government and social levels as well as in organisations.<\/p>\n

On top of celebrating the successful end of the programme, the graduation ceremony additionally included a training on political campaigning. We wish these women all the best and are looking forward to seeing their future endeavors.<\/p>\n

Elbarlament has been conducting leadership programmes for women in Lebanon in Iraq for the past four years. This particular programme took place within the framework of the 2-year-long Women Talking Peace<\/a> project, funded by the GIZ on behalf of the government of the federal republic of Germany.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
